Birthday Bouquet.
A sketch that became something more.
My intention for this piece at the time was nothing more than a quick sketch, so to speak. It was meant to be a few minutes throwing paint at a page to see if I could unblock whatever it was that was blocking me. My birthday had just been and I had received a lovely bouquet as a gift and it was staring at me from the top of the dresser. I just sat and threw paint over chaotic lines.
A life of its own.
It only took a few minutes to see that something more than a creative exercise was bubbling. This happens to me so regularly; that what Iām supposed to be focussing on becomes laborious, and the exercise to unblock myself becomes the new centrepiece.
